Does Your Site Need Professional SEO Help?

Determining how a particular company marketing website is not doing well on their own and needs to hire professional assistance is fairly easy.

Convincing the company to actually take the action needed to get the hired help is much more difficult to do, however. A natural search is based on Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO is the method, or process of placing keywords, or keyword phrases in a website, which results in getting high rankings on an Internet search engine.

It’s an important thing to know, and fully understand, that a properly-managed SEO will not just result in increased web traffic to your site, it will also drive highly-qualified web visitors to your site, who in turn may make a purchase, and will promote your site as well to others.

How To Find Out If Your Site Needs Expert SEO assistance

To determine if your company is doing an effective, or dismal job of doing online marketing, perform the following tasks, and find out the following details:

- Is the company website ranked #1 on all three search engines?

- Are there any negative references (or reputation management problems) in the first 30 results, when searching for the company website.

- Are there positive references to the company principals listed #1 on all three major search engines?

- Are there any negative references in the first 30 results when searching for the company’s principals?

- Search for the company’s main products and services and industries on all three major search engines, and find out if they are listed on the first page (top 10) of results.

Find Out What Method The Professional Is Using

It’s important to verify and find out what SEO method or strategy your professional SEO expert is using. There are several, and some may be good, however some methods may be unethical, or don’t work at all. A well-informed and knowledgeable SEO expert knows the appropriate paid and free listings that will help enhance your site’s ranking. The method of SEO copyrighting is an ethical, but impractical method of ranking.

This method focuses on the over-optimization of keywords and phrases inside a site’s content, therefore making it totally unreadable to the reader. There are also a variety of spamming methods that a so-called SEO expert may use to improve a site’s ranking. However, after search engines discover this illegal method, you need not worry about ranking anymore, because your site will be banned from the search engine for quite a long period of time.

How A Good SEO Expert Can Help Your Website

Consulting with an SEO Professional who already has an understanding of what’s going on in the search engine world and what new developments are on the rise, helps in teaching website businesses the safe and ethical way to gain search engine placements on the top search engines.

Professional, and ethical SEO experts also provide a detailed web site analysis on how your web site is viewed by the search engines, and how you can make changes to the web site so that it can achieve higher rankings. An SEO expert also helps you analyze your competition web sites and how their site structure, content, links, linkbaiting and blogs are keeping them above you, and how you may be able to outrank them.

Global SEO Strategies for International SEO

For many international brands, global Search engine optimization remains a virtually untapped arena. According to Oban Multilingual, 70% of internet search queries are not in English.

Despite the many SEO blogs I subscribe to, I see very little information posted on global SEO strategies. Below I’ve gathered some of the international SEO best practices and tips for global search engine optimization.

1. Use Local Domain Extensions: The most effective strategy for international SEO is the most obvious one. If you’re trying to optimize for Google.ca and your domain has a .ca extension, you have a great advantage (though it’s still very possible without one.) In addition to the domain extension, Google probably looks at the IP address location of your server to determine the geographical relevance of your site.

2. Translation Isn’t Enough: Many assume that a word-for-word Google translation of existing website content will result in high rankings on international SERPs. Those of use who’ve ever read a word-for-word translation from another language to English realize this isn’t a good idea. You may get into the SERPs, but your odds of converting the visitor and slim to none.

3. Get Links from international domains: If your site contains a good diversity of incoming links from many domain extensions (.co.uk, .ca, .fr, etc), Google will begin to notice your site on the non-US versions of Google.

4. Links to international domains: While I’m not sure if this will really improve rankings, it at least shows you’re participating in a global community by linking to international sources.

5. Keyword + Country Landing Pages: I’ve found searchers sometimes do a keyword search and append their country name to it. (e.g. “ipods uk”) By optimizing a landing page for this combination, you can begin ranking for the terms.

6. Do International Keyword Research: It doesn’t make sense to get your keyword suggestions and counts from keyword tools only showing US results. Aaron Wall’s International SEO keyword tool allows you to get keyword data from 15 different countries.

7. Know the Local Lingo: Anyone who has traveled to another English speaking country knows there are significant differences in local lingo. For example, one of my clients discovered that “shop” is more frequently used than “store.” in many European countries.

8. Consider Local Search Engines: Google doesn’t exactly rule the entire world of search….yet. While its still the number #1 engine internationally, local engines such as Voila in France, Ansearch in Australia, or Yandex in Russia are very popular. If you’re targeting a certain local audience, it pays to understand the algorithms of other engines besides Google.

The internet is making the world a smaller place. In the future, forward-thinking companies will begin to capitalize on world-wide search traffic, not just from their own country.

AdSense - 7 Keys To Empire?

There’s a lot of buzz around about how you can make a quick and easy fortune using this AdSense course or that tool or this book.

And they show you their incomes from AdSense too (though not necessarily THIS month). Now, is it just me or is something a little odd in all this?

Say, I’m making $5000 - no make that $15,276 a month from AdSense on my sites. And now I’m going to sell all my secrets on how to do that for $67 or $97 or whatever.

So what happened, did I get all bored with my filthy riches and decide to become a philanthropist and sell stuff that makes me 15K a month for a pittance? Or is it something else?

Am I saying it’s impossible? Certainly not. I know people who make that more.

But a little reality. Those people don’t have 5 or 6 or 50 sites. They have maybe 500 or 3000 or more. Few sites make 20 or more a day. Very few. Average income is probably less than a dollar a day. So with 500 sites at a dollar a day, you’ve got your 15K a month.

Now the domain names cost you maybe $3500 to $4500. Then you need hosting and somehow you’ve got to build the sites and get traffic to them. There are excellent tools but the ones that will let you do this kind of thing in a reasonably short time are also very (very) expensive.

And you are continually dealing with sites that don’t get indexed or get de-indexed or even get banned. Traffic today, gone tomorrow. Plus, if you’re not real careful with those tools you may get an unpleasant letter from Google about a DMCA copyright infringement which could cost you your AdSense account.

You can make money, you can build an empire. But it isn’t easy or quick no matter what you hear. And it really isn’t a business. It’s not a long run proposition, it’s not stable. You need to keep creating more sites as older ones fail - or you need to be smart and use those AdSense revenues to build an enduring business.

You put up with this down to here, so here are the real 7 “secret” keys to AdSense.

1. The best performing AdSense type is the large rectangle. This has been tested over and over.

2. The best colors are blue for the link - surfers know that blue means click me. And darkish almost black and grey for the text and url. No borders. The same background as your page. Will it merge into your content? No, that’s bogus. There are maybe 4 surfers in this galaxy who can’t tell a Google ad when they see one. They are not going to believe it’s part of the text. Wake up, OK?

3. Another format which is being reported to more or less work is the full wide banner type layout with text ads and images directly above the links. Try it and see if it works for you. Maybe it’s a fad.

4. Keywords and related content are critical if you want targeted ads. If you want high paying clicks you need to target the costly keywords AND have content that supports the keywords.

5. You need traffic interested in the ads. Which means your traffic generation techniques have to be targeted not scattershot. You might hear that 1% or 1.5% clickthrough rate is OK and 3% is good. Nonsense. Really successful people get CTRs that are often well above 30%. Even with modest efforts you should be getting an average 6 to 15% CTR (per ad impression, not pages).

6. You have to track what you’re doing and you have to test variations in ad layout, placement, color and related content to optimize your income. No one can tell you how to do it except the traffic coming to your site. If you don’t test and track, you’re flying blind.

7. You need to keep building new sites.

You are now a member of the AdSense Illuminati. Quite possibly you already knew all that. So why are you looking for something else? Really. This is all you need to start doing it.

Probably any course or book can help you if that’s what it takes to get you moving and doing. Ultimately, no one can really show you exactly how to do it. You’re going to have to learn the ropes and put in the time.

Like everything in life - the greatest traffic generator, the ultimate course or the super MLM opportunity, if it sounds too good to be true, then it is. There’s no magic bullet, no ultimate secret to buy. There’s no easy, painless, work free, certain road to riches (except, maybe, inheriting it and that can be very hard on the heirs).

Whatever you do on the net, do it wide awake and with your brain actually functioning. The final un-numbered key is that a technique, a shortcut, an idea that will make what you do easier, faster, or more profitable - one single tiny thing - is worth more than any book or course costs. One useable idea and you’ve gotten a great deal. If you learned something you didn’t know or had forgotten, then it’s worth much more than you paid. There may not be any magic solution out there, but there are useful concepts, techniques and ideas. You just have to see them for what they are, and then get busy and really use them.

Affiliate Marketing - The Importance Of Focusing On One Affiliate Program

One of the biggest mistakes that most affiliate marketer make is not focusing on one affiliate program. Since there are many affiliate programs that are free to join, some people will feel that there is nothing to lose and there is nothing wrong in joining many affiliate programs. This is not totally true.

You will need to realize that if you join too many affiliate programs, you will not be fully focus on maximizing the full potential that each program can bring to you. For example, if you are promoting 10 products, you will only be able to put in 10% of your focus on promoting each of the products. You will not get much result when you only put in 10% of your effort in promoting the product.

But if you put in 100% of your focus on promoting one affiliate product at a time, you will definitely see much better results as you have full maximized the full potential that the program has to offer. Once you have maximized the full potential of one affiliate product, you can go on to the put in 100% of your effort again on the 2nd product. This will ensure that there is consistency.

Please take note that affiliate marketing is a real business and it will take time to grow. It is better to go through a slow and steady path than to go through the fast and unsteady. Always remember the power on focusing doing one thing at a time, be consistent, be patient and you will be able to reach the business success that you largely deserved.

6 Reasons Why I Would Submit To Yahoo’s Paid Directory

The Open Directory Project (AKA DMOZ) is the most popular free directory on the worldwide web. However, if I were building a new website today, considering the myriad of problems that DMOZ is having, I would bite the bullet and pay Yahoo $299 annually for a listing in its paid directory. In fact, that’s exactly what I plan on doing with my next website. Here are 6 reasons why:

1. The Yahoo Directory is the most powerful paid directory on the Internet.

2. Yahoo guarantees to review your site within 7 days of submission.

3. While there’s no guarantee of approval, if you follow Yahoo’s guidelines carefully, your site will more than likely be approved and listed…providing of course, your site is a legitimate business website. By the way, whether your website is approved or not, the $299 fee is non-refundable.

4. If your site is brand new, you have the advantage of obtaining significant web exposure much faster, as opposed to just waiting for your organic rankings to kick in.

5. Google places a great deal of weight on having a backlink from an industry-specific listing in Yahoo’s directory, which has an “off-the-charts” page rank of 8.

6. Once your site is approved, it will be featured in the “What’s New” category of the directory which can send a good amount of traffic to your site, as well as give your site a nice little boost in the search engines.

Although Google is still the world’s most popular search engine, Yahoo is still widely used worldwide. Why? Several reasons: Its webmail progam, its popular IM program, RSS feed reader, and many other bells and whistles it offers keep people coming back to search Yahoo for their personal and business needs again and again.

Build a Huge Opt-In E-Mail List For Pennies Using 2nd Tier Pay Per Click Search Engines

Have you ever purchased Leads from online Lead Brokers, I have paid over $20 for Insurance Leads that were distributed to 3 or 4 others. Sure it is expensive to generate Insurance Leads with Pay Per Click if you are using Google or Yahoo but with 2nd Tier Pay Per Click Search Engines you can Build a Massive list for pennies per name. Here is a simple 7 Step Approach to Build a Huge Opt-In E-Mail List For Pennies Using 2nd Tier Pay Per Click Search Engines

Step 1 Identify Your Market

You can’t hit the target if you don’t know what it is. So logically You need to determine who your market is. My Market might be Life Insurance Leads in Missouri and Illinois. If you sell organic Dog Food your Market might be Dog Owners or Breeders. If you are a a personal trainer your market might be Body Builders and health conscious people.

Step 2 The Shameless Bribe

In order to get people to sign up for your list they need a reason. The best reason is something for nothing (The Shameless Bribe). The easiest way to create a shameless bribe is to search a site like Ezine Articles and compose a list of Articles to give them. If you want to target Dog Owners just search Ezine Articles for Dogs and grab 10 or 15 articles on Dog Training. Now you can offer a 10 Day free E-Course on Dog Training. Simply send them a Link to an Article Each day with a small write up before and after each link. I like to upload the Articles to my own Web Site and send them the Link to my web Site

Step 3 Upload to your Web Server

Upload your Offer to your server. Get a Good Reliable Web Host and Upload your free offer to your Web Server. Don’t forget the Up sell. If you are offering a 10 Day Ecourse have a Top Sponsor ad and possibly 1 or 2 others Ads on each day of your E-Course for other Products that you receive a Commission on. These are also good pages to place adsense ads on

Step 4 Create a List

Get Yourself an AutoResponder service and create a List. After they sign up for Your List I like to send them to a One Time Offer Page that says thanks for Joining My List you need to confirm your E-Mail now please consider my Offer

Step 5 Set Up your Campaign

Find a Pay per Click engine and set up your Ad Campaign, Start out with 2 or 3 Keywords and a penny or 2 per click. Start out small with a maximum of $10 a day and see how it goes

Step 6 Track and Manage your Campaign

You should use a separate Ad-Tracker for each Keyword and Ad. This way you can see which combination works best for you.

Step 7 Repeat

One you find a successful campaign repeat with additional Keywords and new Search Engines

Proper Keyword Density for Optimal Rankings on Google, Yahoo, MSN, and Others

Many search engine optimization Specialists pretend to know the proper keyword density to optimize a website for Google, but the truth is that there is no magic keyword density. Some “experts” claim that the optimal keyword density is as low as 2%, while others claim that it is as high as 20%. This disparity can be easily accounted for by the simple fact that keyword density is not a major factor in your websites rankings in the search engine results pages.

In fact, there are a number of reasons not to optimize your website for any specific keyword density. First of all, all the major search engines are constantly working to improve their algorithms to detect unnatural writing within the content of web pages. Google already has code in place that devalues websites with blocks of text that are laden with keywords, and they will only get more sophisticated as time goes on. So optimizing your website now many cause it to get penalized later. Google’s genuine goal is to create a system that returns the highest quality websites, because this is the only reason people currently use their service.

So what can you do to ensure that your content is optimized for Google and other major search engines? The best thing you can do is to write text that is intended for your visitors. Pretend like the search engines do not exist, and write sentences that are clear and relate to the topic of your website. Fill your blocks of text with relevant links to other parts of your website wherever possible, and write with good grammar and spelling.

Is There Such A Thing As Too Much Graphic Artwork On Your Ad?

Many business owners, particularly those really large ones, prefer to have their offices and buildings hold art collections. They probably believe that collecting art adds that special something to their overall image. In fact, most of these big businesses even invest in artworks just so they can improve their image to their target clients and customers.

But what does art do for their image? Essentially, art makes a business image more elegant and enticing. Especially when displayed in their buildings and offices, most artwork provides aesthetic qualities that are otherwise missing from ordinary and so-so shops.

However, here’s the thing. A lot of businesses, especially small ones, cannot afford to invest in such collections. For the most part, art collections and programs usually fetch a very high price that small businesses would rather use their resources to finance other worthwhile projects like their postcards and full color business cards perhaps.

Nevertheless, even small businesses have learned of art’s significance in creating an effective marketing campaign for any business. In fact, businesses nowadays see the importance of art in any marketing collateral that many of their materials often have artwork for their covers or graphic design.

Most businesses learned that putting art in their marketing collaterals such as their full color business cards and greeting card printing jobs, go a long way in providing a more attractive and acceptable corporate image.

So if you are ready for more creative ideas, why not increase your attractive qualities by providing art in your postcards, business cards and even greeting cards. You may choose to hire a postcard printing company to create your very own artwork, or you can always create one for your business.

You can always add elegance and pizazz to your marketing tools with vintage artwork and even contemporary ones. Plus, people do pick up and collect materials that they are attracted to even if they don’t have a need for your business at the moment.

But you also have to remember that there’s a thing such as too much artwork on your ad. They do make your ad material look cluttered; and art and graphics often create distraction to your target clients that they most often fail to acknowledge what is really important - your message.

In order for your artwork to really do its job, bear in mind that your graphics main purpose is to provide décor to your material, as well as emphasize your message. Your message is the one of the most, if not the most, important element in your marketing campaign. Too much artwork might make your target clients forget that too.

Is there really such a thing as too much artwork?

There is. So you better learn to include just enough to make your marketing collateral work effectively.

SEO Strategies - Optimize Online Press Releases For CRM

In a fiercely competitive online atmosphere, press releases can be a valuable resource for increasing your company’s overall visibility, but only if they’re optimized effectively. Remember, this tactic is no longer just about publicizing your latest news. Instead, it’s about creating visibility through multiple channels that allow you to connect through content, reaching those audience segments that are relevant to your company and purpose.

When optimized correctly, online press releases can do all of the following:

  • Boost Search Engine Rankings for SEO
  • Drive Targeted Traffic
  • Build Brand Awareness
  • Save Money on Pay-Per-Click Campaigns
  • Usurp Position From Competition on SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages)

Despite these numerous benefits, however, many companies continue to use unoptimized press releases that don’t work as well as they could. Instead, these lazy releases stagnate in Deleted folders and are never indexed by the major search engines. Remember, this isn’t a traditional press release like Grandma used to write.

Unlike traditional press releases, which were succinct and written with readers in mind, online press releases need to be more carefully crafted. An online press release (like SEO in general), is half art and half science - in addition to appealing to readers, they need to be optimized for search engines in order to drive results. A few simple modifications could increase their effectiveness drastically, providing far more SEO benefit to your online presence than they would have otherwise.

So how do you write and optimize an online press release that will drive tangible results?

First and foremost, employ common sense and reason. No one wants to read something that isn’t newsworthy, and these type of releases won’t garner any publicity. In fact, according to a DM News survey, 98 percent of journalists are online every day, and almost 75 percent are searching for press releases. So before you write anything, ask yourself if the story you’re thinking about publicizing is newsworthy. As a member of your industry, whatever that may be, would you take the time to read it? If not, don’t waste your time. Wait for a story that will make a splash and matter to your audience.

Next, identify the keywords your press release will utilize. Align them with the keywords and phrases you’re already optimizing in order to derive the highest SEO benefit. In order to make sure you’re choosing those with the most potential, start with some quick competitive analysis. This can be done by performing a News search that includes your keyword on Google, Yahoo, Ask, MSN, or any other popular search engine.

Looking at the results page, you’ll know if this is the right keyword or phrase to chase? How? By the amount of competition it presents. If you notice that most of the results are spread out over a longer time span, this keyword is a good opportunity because there clearly isn’t as much competition. On the other hand, if your search turns up ten stories from the past few days, you’ll know that this term is much more competitive due to the many stories you’re competing against.

Now that you’re aware of the competitive landscape, determine the amount of flexibility you have to work with. As I mentioned before, if you’re attempting to enter a space that’s crowded with recent news, you’ll need to focus on a single keyword phrase, while if you have more flexibility, you can chase several permutations of your keywords.

In the end, it’s a better idea to focus on specific online niches, crafting your press release in a way that you know will appeal to your potential readers. Your press release will be much more potent if it gets noticed within a specific sector than if it languishes away in relative obscurity, hidden somewhere in a crowd of similar stories.

This simple research phase can make all the difference in whether your press release gets noticed, but it’s often the most overlooked aspect of this strategy. Don’t get trapped milling around in the virtual crowd - stand out and get noticed by optimizing around the keywords that hold the most potential.

Once you’ve completed this critical research step, you will have identified the most potent keywords with which to write your press release. Now you’re finally ready to start writing!

Start with the headline, the most important part of your press release. Include your most competitive keywords in this headline. While it may be tempting to simply combine all of your keywords, it’s imperative that your headline remains both condensed yet descriptive. Think like a journalist and a searcher here. Stick to the basics, providing the essential facts and the who, what, where, when, and why. All of the major search engines start by looking for keywords in headlines, so be sure to give them what they’re looking for in order to capitalize on relevancy. Observe these rules and you’ll also attract those all important human readers.

After you’ve crafted the headline, it’s time to start writing the body of your press release. Begin by isolating several related phrases to maximize your SEO potential. For example, if you’re publicizing the launch of your new SEO site, your headline may be something like Fusionbox Launches SEO Microsite.

Don’t fall victim to the constraints you’ll encounter with the use of just one keyword or phrase. Instead, use a web of related keyphrases to expand your reach. Alternate permutations like “Fusionbox Launches Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Microsite,” for example, will invariably broaden your scope and influence. These various combinations allow your release to appear in News results for these related phrases as well.

Try rotating various combinations of keywords in the body of the release as well to create more diversity and cover more ground. For example:

“Fusionbox, a Denver SEO agency, recently lauched a new microsite devoted to search engine optimization (SEO) strategies. The company, which specializes in search engine marketing (SEM), web design, and web development, needed a unique platform to reach clients looking for optimization solutions and showcase their SEO services.”

Rather than using the same keyword phrase repetitively and sounding like a broken record (which drives human readers away), this sentence sprinkles other keyword combinations that expand the SEO value of the release without detracting from readability.

Be creative here. Don’t try to overload on keywords or your release won’t flow like good writing should. A good rule of thumb is to write with an eye for your keywords, incorporating them into the release when natural opportunities appear.

Once you’ve finished writing your release, read over it again and circle your keywords in red. Does it sound natural or look like a finished New York Times word search? If so, take a step back and ensure your work flows while maintaining general SEO copywriting best practices and a healthy keyword density.

Next, look for instances of your keywords where you could include a backlink to your site. This will allow you to build valuable incoming links to your site, which are a major determinant of search engine positioning. Remember to use the full URL in your link if you can’t employ anchor text, as this will ensure your link is indexed and available to search engines and readers alike. 1` Finally, you’ve finished writing your optimized press release. Now you’re ready to begin the submission process. There are an infinite number of press release sites on the Internet, but some are far superior to others. Before you go about submitting anywhere and everywhere, make sure the sites you’re submitting content to are crawled by the major search engines, or else you won’t get any SEO benefit from your release.

Many of the more popular distribution services are indexed by Google News, Yahoo News, and others, but make sure by searching for related stories on these engines and noting where the top results originate. This way, you’ll get a better idea of which distribution channels specific search engines favor.

Target these for your own release to ensure your content will be visible where it matters, especially as Universal search rolls onto the scene, showing News links among the regular search results.

As you can see, optimizing your press release is a somewhat complex endeavor. Still, considering that an optimized release is an essential ingredient to a search engine marketing (SEM) campaign for its ability to boost search engine rankings, drive targeted traffic, build brand awareness, and even help you gain digital real estate on the SERPs (search engine results page), the juice is definitely worth the squeeze.

Just observe the best practices I’ve described above and you’ll build your online presence in this fiercely competitive online atmosphere where visibility is everything. An optimized press release will allow you to connect with your target audience through content while deriving tangible SEO benefits.
