Proper Keyword Density for Optimal Rankings on Google, Yahoo, MSN, and Others

Many search engine optimization Specialists pretend to know the proper keyword density to optimize a website for Google, but the truth is that there is no magic keyword density. Some “experts” claim that the optimal keyword density is as low as 2%, while others claim that it is as high as 20%. This disparity can be easily accounted for by the simple fact that keyword density is not a major factor in your websites rankings in the search engine results pages.

In fact, there are a number of reasons not to optimize your website for any specific keyword density. First of all, all the major search engines are constantly working to improve their algorithms to detect unnatural writing within the content of web pages. Google already has code in place that devalues websites with blocks of text that are laden with keywords, and they will only get more sophisticated as time goes on. So optimizing your website now many cause it to get penalized later. Google’s genuine goal is to create a system that returns the highest quality websites, because this is the only reason people currently use their service.

So what can you do to ensure that your content is optimized for Google and other major search engines? The best thing you can do is to write text that is intended for your visitors. Pretend like the search engines do not exist, and write sentences that are clear and relate to the topic of your website. Fill your blocks of text with relevant links to other parts of your website wherever possible, and write with good grammar and spelling.

Is There Such A Thing As Too Much Graphic Artwork On Your Ad?

Many business owners, particularly those really large ones, prefer to have their offices and buildings hold art collections. They probably believe that collecting art adds that special something to their overall image. In fact, most of these big businesses even invest in artworks just so they can improve their image to their target clients and customers.

But what does art do for their image? Essentially, art makes a business image more elegant and enticing. Especially when displayed in their buildings and offices, most artwork provides aesthetic qualities that are otherwise missing from ordinary and so-so shops.

However, here’s the thing. A lot of businesses, especially small ones, cannot afford to invest in such collections. For the most part, art collections and programs usually fetch a very high price that small businesses would rather use their resources to finance other worthwhile projects like their postcards and full color business cards perhaps.

Nevertheless, even small businesses have learned of art’s significance in creating an effective marketing campaign for any business. In fact, businesses nowadays see the importance of art in any marketing collateral that many of their materials often have artwork for their covers or graphic design.

Most businesses learned that putting art in their marketing collaterals such as their full color business cards and greeting card printing jobs, go a long way in providing a more attractive and acceptable corporate image.

So if you are ready for more creative ideas, why not increase your attractive qualities by providing art in your postcards, business cards and even greeting cards. You may choose to hire a postcard printing company to create your very own artwork, or you can always create one for your business.

You can always add elegance and pizazz to your marketing tools with vintage artwork and even contemporary ones. Plus, people do pick up and collect materials that they are attracted to even if they don’t have a need for your business at the moment.

But you also have to remember that there’s a thing such as too much artwork on your ad. They do make your ad material look cluttered; and art and graphics often create distraction to your target clients that they most often fail to acknowledge what is really important - your message.

In order for your artwork to really do its job, bear in mind that your graphics main purpose is to provide décor to your material, as well as emphasize your message. Your message is the one of the most, if not the most, important element in your marketing campaign. Too much artwork might make your target clients forget that too.

Is there really such a thing as too much artwork?

There is. So you better learn to include just enough to make your marketing collateral work effectively.

SEO Strategies - Optimize Online Press Releases For CRM

In a fiercely competitive online atmosphere, press releases can be a valuable resource for increasing your company’s overall visibility, but only if they’re optimized effectively. Remember, this tactic is no longer just about publicizing your latest news. Instead, it’s about creating visibility through multiple channels that allow you to connect through content, reaching those audience segments that are relevant to your company and purpose.

When optimized correctly, online press releases can do all of the following:

  • Boost Search Engine Rankings for SEO
  • Drive Targeted Traffic
  • Build Brand Awareness
  • Save Money on Pay-Per-Click Campaigns
  • Usurp Position From Competition on SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages)

Despite these numerous benefits, however, many companies continue to use unoptimized press releases that don’t work as well as they could. Instead, these lazy releases stagnate in Deleted folders and are never indexed by the major search engines. Remember, this isn’t a traditional press release like Grandma used to write.

Unlike traditional press releases, which were succinct and written with readers in mind, online press releases need to be more carefully crafted. An online press release (like SEO in general), is half art and half science - in addition to appealing to readers, they need to be optimized for search engines in order to drive results. A few simple modifications could increase their effectiveness drastically, providing far more SEO benefit to your online presence than they would have otherwise.

So how do you write and optimize an online press release that will drive tangible results?

First and foremost, employ common sense and reason. No one wants to read something that isn’t newsworthy, and these type of releases won’t garner any publicity. In fact, according to a DM News survey, 98 percent of journalists are online every day, and almost 75 percent are searching for press releases. So before you write anything, ask yourself if the story you’re thinking about publicizing is newsworthy. As a member of your industry, whatever that may be, would you take the time to read it? If not, don’t waste your time. Wait for a story that will make a splash and matter to your audience.

Next, identify the keywords your press release will utilize. Align them with the keywords and phrases you’re already optimizing in order to derive the highest SEO benefit. In order to make sure you’re choosing those with the most potential, start with some quick competitive analysis. This can be done by performing a News search that includes your keyword on Google, Yahoo, Ask, MSN, or any other popular search engine.

Looking at the results page, you’ll know if this is the right keyword or phrase to chase? How? By the amount of competition it presents. If you notice that most of the results are spread out over a longer time span, this keyword is a good opportunity because there clearly isn’t as much competition. On the other hand, if your search turns up ten stories from the past few days, you’ll know that this term is much more competitive due to the many stories you’re competing against.

Now that you’re aware of the competitive landscape, determine the amount of flexibility you have to work with. As I mentioned before, if you’re attempting to enter a space that’s crowded with recent news, you’ll need to focus on a single keyword phrase, while if you have more flexibility, you can chase several permutations of your keywords.

In the end, it’s a better idea to focus on specific online niches, crafting your press release in a way that you know will appeal to your potential readers. Your press release will be much more potent if it gets noticed within a specific sector than if it languishes away in relative obscurity, hidden somewhere in a crowd of similar stories.

This simple research phase can make all the difference in whether your press release gets noticed, but it’s often the most overlooked aspect of this strategy. Don’t get trapped milling around in the virtual crowd - stand out and get noticed by optimizing around the keywords that hold the most potential.

Once you’ve completed this critical research step, you will have identified the most potent keywords with which to write your press release. Now you’re finally ready to start writing!

Start with the headline, the most important part of your press release. Include your most competitive keywords in this headline. While it may be tempting to simply combine all of your keywords, it’s imperative that your headline remains both condensed yet descriptive. Think like a journalist and a searcher here. Stick to the basics, providing the essential facts and the who, what, where, when, and why. All of the major search engines start by looking for keywords in headlines, so be sure to give them what they’re looking for in order to capitalize on relevancy. Observe these rules and you’ll also attract those all important human readers.

After you’ve crafted the headline, it’s time to start writing the body of your press release. Begin by isolating several related phrases to maximize your SEO potential. For example, if you’re publicizing the launch of your new SEO site, your headline may be something like Fusionbox Launches SEO Microsite.

Don’t fall victim to the constraints you’ll encounter with the use of just one keyword or phrase. Instead, use a web of related keyphrases to expand your reach. Alternate permutations like “Fusionbox Launches Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Microsite,” for example, will invariably broaden your scope and influence. These various combinations allow your release to appear in News results for these related phrases as well.

Try rotating various combinations of keywords in the body of the release as well to create more diversity and cover more ground. For example:

“Fusionbox, a Denver SEO agency, recently lauched a new microsite devoted to search engine optimization (SEO) strategies. The company, which specializes in search engine marketing (SEM), web design, and web development, needed a unique platform to reach clients looking for optimization solutions and showcase their SEO services.”

Rather than using the same keyword phrase repetitively and sounding like a broken record (which drives human readers away), this sentence sprinkles other keyword combinations that expand the SEO value of the release without detracting from readability.

Be creative here. Don’t try to overload on keywords or your release won’t flow like good writing should. A good rule of thumb is to write with an eye for your keywords, incorporating them into the release when natural opportunities appear.

Once you’ve finished writing your release, read over it again and circle your keywords in red. Does it sound natural or look like a finished New York Times word search? If so, take a step back and ensure your work flows while maintaining general SEO copywriting best practices and a healthy keyword density.

Next, look for instances of your keywords where you could include a backlink to your site. This will allow you to build valuable incoming links to your site, which are a major determinant of search engine positioning. Remember to use the full URL in your link if you can’t employ anchor text, as this will ensure your link is indexed and available to search engines and readers alike. 1` Finally, you’ve finished writing your optimized press release. Now you’re ready to begin the submission process. There are an infinite number of press release sites on the Internet, but some are far superior to others. Before you go about submitting anywhere and everywhere, make sure the sites you’re submitting content to are crawled by the major search engines, or else you won’t get any SEO benefit from your release.

Many of the more popular distribution services are indexed by Google News, Yahoo News, and others, but make sure by searching for related stories on these engines and noting where the top results originate. This way, you’ll get a better idea of which distribution channels specific search engines favor.

Target these for your own release to ensure your content will be visible where it matters, especially as Universal search rolls onto the scene, showing News links among the regular search results.

As you can see, optimizing your press release is a somewhat complex endeavor. Still, considering that an optimized release is an essential ingredient to a search engine marketing (SEM) campaign for its ability to boost search engine rankings, drive targeted traffic, build brand awareness, and even help you gain digital real estate on the SERPs (search engine results page), the juice is definitely worth the squeeze.

Just observe the best practices I’ve described above and you’ll build your online presence in this fiercely competitive online atmosphere where visibility is everything. An optimized press release will allow you to connect with your target audience through content while deriving tangible SEO benefits.

If you use Blogger which is owned by Google, then you are in luck as it is already built in to the templates. If you have even seen those little ads posted that say sponsored by Google, then you have seen ad sense in action.

Adsense allows the user to make money being online by placing ads on their page that are related to the subject/topic/theme of the blog. Marketing SEO to Local Businesses

Leading the way in their ability to capture, process and close more sales, the savvy business owner uses Web 2.0 and SEO to obtain more customers at the earliest possible opportunity. With rapid rewards leading to greater profits, it doesn’t take long for the average business owner to see the leverage in having website and SEO services done sooner rather than later.

Gathering Leads Locally

Many times I am asked if I have a preference for the type of businesses that I work with. While I am able to help out the start-up company, my preference is to work alongside existing businesses. Pre-established business owners tend to have a better scope of what it takes to flourish. Even if they have managed to survive without an Internet presence, they quickly realize that by adding a well planned and executed Internet Marketing Plan, they will be able to add prospects, customers, clients and most importantly PROFIT to their business.

How Much Will it Cost?

The part of this business that prevents it from ever becoming boring is the fact that each and every job, each and every design or project is always something new. When it comes to your local business merchants, it is difficult to fit them all into one template or business model. With that said, costs can vary dependent upon the needs and desires of the client. These are considerations when pricing a project:

  1. Starting Costs: Although I enjoy this work, I’m not in it for charity, I’m in it for a business. Expect to pay between 1/3 and 1/2 of the estimated contract price up front.

If this is an issue, you don’t need the business. I use the position that in my initial meeting to discuss a project, I’m going to see if I want the job, not if I can get the job.

  1. Ongoing Fees: Many larger projects can take months to complete. When this is the case, a monthly retainer fee is appropriate and to be expected. Measurable results should be taking place during this time.

  1. Maintenance vs. Residual Commission: This is where the real sustainable income is generated. At some point after the project is completed you have really moved from a role of designer/facilitator to one of consultant and/or “business-partner”, sine you now have a vested interest in the continued success of that business. Be sure to discuss in the pre-contract stages whether your work afterward will be on a monthly maintenance fee schedule or if you’ll work for a commission, based on the percentage of growth accountable to your work.

Guaranteed Satisfaction is Paramount

As I mentioned earlier, I don’t go to see if I can get a job. I go to see if I want the job. With that said, I will continue to design and optimize a site for a client until he has at least earned back his initial investment. The best way to grow our own business is to ensure that our customers and clients are always happy with the work that we do for them. Make it easy for your clients to give you referrals.

The bottom line is that my work is 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEED!

Getting Into Google Adsense

It is now common to see on many websites advertisements displayed above blocks of content. The majority of websites often have Google Ads placed on them. I myself have noticed that more and more website owners are opting to have Google Ads on their websites. Of course I myself, not wanting to miss out on this growing trend, also have this form of advertising on my own website and blog.

Google Adsense topics now greatly dominate forums, discussions and newsletters all over the Internet. When you consider the fabulous tales of riches to be made, it is no wonder that Google Adsense is big right now. I mean millions of people around the globe are making money with this all from the comfort of their own home.

What makes Google Adsense so attractive is that it is so easy to set-up, many people in the know now consider it to be the easiest way to making money online.

The key to success with Adsense is the placing of ads on pages that are receiving high traffic for high demand keywords. The higher the cost-per-click to the advertiser, the more you will receive per click from your site. Obviously, it does not pay to target low cost-per-click keywords and place them on pages that do not receive hits.

If you can begin to imagine all the people getting online and clicking away everyday, you can begin to see why Google Adsense has become an instant hit.

For some who are just new to this market, it makes no sense to have their homepage is buried somewhere in the little ads promoting other people’s services. But then, when they get the idea that they are actually earning more money that way, it start to become an attractive earning option.

There are two important factors that some successful webmaster and publishers are learning to blend together in order to make money easier using Adsense.

1. Targeting high traffic pages on your website. If you check on your logs, you will discover that many of your visitors are taking advantage of the free affiliate marketing resources and ebooks that you are offering on your site. In simple words, your ads are working effectively and are generating more clicks. It also means more money for you.

2. Placing Adsense links on pages that are producing little, or better yet, no profit. By placing Adsense on a free resources page, you will reduce the amount of potential customers being lost to other sites. Tricky, but a clever tactic nonetheless.

Like anything, once you have learned how to work this system effectively, these two factors are actually a good source of producing a minimal amount of revenue from a high traffic page. Many people are using this strategy to pick up some extra and cash with Adsense. This is also especially rewarding to informational sites that focus their efforts on delivering powerful affiliate link free content to their visitors.

With the many techniques that people are now learning on how to make the easiest money by their Adsense, it is not surprising that Google is trying everything to update and polish their Adsense in order to maintain their good image.

The possibility of adding is 2nd tier in Adsense is not impossible. With all the people spending more time in their Adsense now and still more getting into this line of marketing, there is no doubt about the many new improvements will soon come into fruition. Imagine the smiles on the faces of the webmasters and publishers all around the world if ever they sign up for sub-affiliates and double or even triple the amount that they are already earning.

The one particularly handy money-making feature that is available with Adsense now is the ability to filter out up to 200 urls. These gives webmasters the option to block out low value offers from their pages as well as competitors to their websites. Talk about taking only those that are advantageous and discarding the ones that seem “useless”.

With Google Adsense, you are limited only by your imagination. More and more clever marketers are building content sites, with the sole intention of placing their Adsense code on. This tactic is proving to be very lucrative for those people who are focusing their energies on niche markets.

Holiday destinations and cookery tip site are springing up all over the Internet. Why not consider doing some research into niche markets, who knows where this bit of detective work could lead?

In the meantime, it looks like Google Adsense is here to stay. Webmasters are getting more and more sophisticated and they are coming up with new ways to utilizing Google Adsense. Yes, the future is looking promising for those who are new to Google Adsense. All you have to do is pick a topic and start doing your homework!

Why Doesn’t My Yahoo! Messenger Work?

The Problem

You just installed Microsoft Vista and you decide it??s time to open Yahoo messenger and send and instant message to a friend but it won??t work! This is not only a problem for you, it is a problem for all Yahoo! messenger users. Since one computer uses Vista and the user of the other computer users XP, the messenger does not work. Sadly, there is no updated version out at the present, but there is one in the works, and boy, does it sound amazing!

Problem With Yahoo! Voice

In addition to the messenger not working, other features of the messenger, for example, the voice feature that allows you to have a speaking conversation with another user, also does not work. The reason for this problem is the same as the reason for the chat messenger not working as well.

New Features Of Yahoo! Messenger

Some of the new features of Yahoo! messenger will include new stunning graphics that will correspond with Vistas graphics. You will see amazing new emoticons that really look more like people instead of cartoons. That??s not a huge improvement but it gets better. In addition, you will also be able to change the look and feel of your messenger to compliment your desktop. This really doesn??t effect me, but it may bother others who think there messenger ??clashes? with there outfits.

For those with interests, the new version will group your friends in your Yahoo interests. This way, you will know all the interests of all the new people you meet allowing you to talk more fluently. this feature will surely improve the conversations of people who are afraid to talk about things that may not be of any interest to the other. Now you can finally discuss the fiscal policy of the United States with that girl you just met seeing that she is grouped in the politics area.

Another great little added feature is one that allows you to add all your contacts from Windows Live to your Yahoo contact list. This will allow you to IM all your friends using one messenger. (I guess this is a way to capitalize on the instant messenger business and drive people away from Windows live?but shhh?don??t let them know to your new found knowledge?just go with it.)

Finally, the other new features allow you to organize your conversations better through new drag and drop tab features. Also, the new Yahoo! Messenger sidebar tool will allow you to better see who is online and ready to talk.

Although Yahoo! messenger is not ready yet, you can look forward to a new version coming out. This version is better than the one your using now. If you don??t have Vista and are not considering making the change, you may not have to because I??m sure Yahoo! will come out with a version for XP users as well.
