The most legitimate way to get targeted, cheap online advertising to your website is via the Google Adwords content network. But so many people are blinded by this CTR problem that they refuse to pursue this cheap online advertising method.

Google AdSense Is Helping Ordinary People Make Money Online

AdSense is a great opportunity for you to generate extra income for your website. It doesn’t cost you anything is probably the best part! AdSense is also simple. You have to complete an application with Google and be accepted to host advertisements for other businesses. Then you simply add lines of code to the html on the pages of the website where you are willing to have advertisements.

The placement of your Google AdSense ad on the page is crucial to how much money you will make. It is vital that you place the ad above the fold on your page in order to get the most clicks. What this means is you want to place the ad high enough on the page that visitors do not have to scroll down to see your ad.

By placing the Google AdSense ad above the fold you are increasing the odds of people clicking on the ad. The reason for this is because a majority of your readers do not read your entire site or the entire page. For the most part people glance over some of the key points on the top part of the page without worrying about scrolling down. If you place the ad higher, you have a better chance to get clicks out of these types of visitors.

The higher the cost-per-click to the advertiser, the more you will receive per click from your site. It doesn’t pay to target low cost-per-click keywords and place them on pages that don’t receive hits. Therefore, we need to think of ways to get visitors viewing a particular page to try and click on the link that will take them to your higher earning pages. Come up with a catchy and unique description for that link. Think of something that people do not get to see everyday. That will trigger their curiosity enough to try and see what its all about.

Another thing that will help is that AdSense offers useful tools as well to get everything to blend. The Google AdSense Preview tools allow you to test the layout of your homepage with the ads in place. You can also contact customer support 24/7 for questions or concerns you may have.

The last secret to success with Google AdSense is similar to your website in general. You want to pick a niche that is similar to your website and stick with that niche for all of the ads you place on your website. By selecting a niche you have a better chance for keyword optimization and targeting your readers with relevant ads to what they are searching for on your website.

In conclusion, I don’t see why anybody can’t make money with Google AdSense. And, its not costing you anything. Furthermore, you will get paid if they just click on the ad. They don’t have to buy anything. Also, the ads that Google puts on your site and directly related to the theme of your website. Also, when I think about it, I have clicked on Google AdSense ads many times, and it was just a natural curiosity that caused me to click on the ad. It gets even better. Google designed the ad.

How many times have you racked your brain trying to come up with a classified ad that you were going to put in a newspaper or an ezine. And, there is no cost! And, it can happen 24/7. The other thing is, there are certain products that you can buy out there to create websites easily, for instance HyperVre. What if you built about 100 sites that were loaded with niche content. A niche is where there is a small group of people that are trying to solve a problem or are interested in a particular thing, BUT there aren’t many people supplying what this “niche” group needs.

One thing to remember is, the keywords that are typed into a search engine are the single solitary thing that is going to lead the website surfer to your site. So, if you know which keywords have a good kei (keyword effectiveness index), then you will know what keywords are profitable. You can find that out with Wordtracker. Now, suppose someone types in the keyword

“goal setting”, then that would direct them to a page in Google, and if they clicked on your ad or your link, then they would go to your site. So, to be successful at this, you need to have a top position in the search engines (which is a whole another subject) and have keywords that the person is looking for. Then you will use some of those keywords in the title of the ad that is in the search engines. So. there are some variables there, but you have to think of the big picture.

This is the big picture as far as I’m concerned. I am so determined to have a successful home business, because of the benefits that it provides. I don’t expect to get rich overnight. But, if it took me 5 yrs. to get to a point where I have money coming in whether I work or not (which is passive income or residual income), then that is PRICELESS. That’s why I currently have a home business, that I can tell people about it, and let them make up their own mind. And, I am getting passive income from it. You should check it out. And if you don’t, that’s fine too. Because, people that can’t take a few minutes to check out a website don’t desire this lifestyle that I have. And, I wouldn’t want you on my team. I know there are alot of scams out there, and I have come across a few of them. And it took me 2 yrs. to find this company. And this is the first time that I have made money with any company. And, if it takes 5-10 yrs. for me to become financially independent, that’s OK. Because, time is going to pass, and you can’t get it back. So. I would rather try to achieve my dreams, instead of sitting back wishing things would change.

Directory Submissions - Are They Worth The Effort?

Yahoo directory is particularly worth submitting a link into in order to get listed on the yahoo search engine. Since yahoo will obviously place higher weight on sites listed in their directory, so it would be expected that a site placed in yahoo directory will improve its ranking on the yahoo search engine.

There are many other directories on the internet. If submitting your website to many directories, it is important to use different text on each directory otherwise the text will be detected as a duplicate and may therefore not be displayed in search results.

If you list your site in many directories then that can be a cheap way to build up links from other sites that point to your site. However, some directories have been removed from Google’s cache. Many directories show signs of being updated much less frequently in Google cache’s than before.

Directories that are especially targeted are those that sell paid links purely for link spamming. Yahoo directory and similarly reputable directories remain unaffected by this purge. Another measure of the quality of a directory is its pagerank and if its homepage has a pagerank of zero or is unranked, it would be best avoided.

Nevertheless, even if a link ceases to be counted in Google, it may still be worth the time and effort if it means that your website can still be marketed in other search engines like yahoo.

Do not use link exchange directories or directories that require a 3 way link exchange as this can be seen as black hat SEO by Google and could get your site banned.

A Quick Guide to Website Creation and Hosting

Website-creation-and-hosting may seem intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. Whether you’re looking for a site to tell the world about your business, or just a personal page to keep track of your hobbies, setting up your own site for fun or business can be easy and painless.

The first and most important part of website-creation-and-hosting is content. You’ll want to have an idea of what you want to have on your site. While this may seem obvious, many people get started on their sites without a good plan.

Make a mental map of what content you’ll need for your website and what you can leave out. If you have trouble keeping track of it all, you can even draw out a map.

Once you know what you want to put on your site and where you want to put it, the next step is to find website hosting companies. What kind of hosting you’ll need will depend on your site.

If you have a low traffic, personal site, there are free website creation and hosting websites available. They will give you a certain amount of space, bandwidth and free email in exchange for displaying ads on your webpage. However, if you exceed that bandwidth, your site could be down for a day or so.

Businesses and people who are expecting a lot of traffic, or who don’t want to deal with ugly ads on their webpage, should look into paid website-creation-and-hosting. It’s best to shop around and make sure that the hosting you get suits your needs.

If you’re new to webpages, you can get features that will help you set up and manage your page, though this might cost a little more.

If you’re going to register a domain, the time to do it is when you get your webspace. Pick a short, easy to remember keyword. This will help you make sure that you can direct people to your website easily. Your web host will probably have provisions for registering your domain name. Having a domain name is about $20 a year in most cases, though high-demand names can be more. Make sure that you renew your domain every year, or someone could steal it away from you!

The last aspect of setting up website-creation-and-hosting is the actual coding. If you know HTML, you can create your page straight into a text document. However, most people use website hosting programs to have better control over their pages.

If you don’t have any experience with HTML, you can still set up a page. A number of hosts allow you to use templates and wizards to set up a simple page. Of course, for a really professional business page, you should always talk to a professional designer.

Managing PPC Advertisements with Tools

PPC or Pay per Click management services are mainly about advertisers bidding on keywords which they think the potential customers will use while doing online search. Whenever an online user uses the same keyword that matches with an advertiser’s keyword, the advertisement (also called a sponsored link) gets displayed on the SERP (search engine results page). PPC management services can mean many services including keyword selection to bid management, ad creation and ad testing.

What is the PPC management tool/software used for? Well to understand that one must first know about PPC bidding and its management. One must first identify as to how much CPC or (cost per click) can be paid by us. The maximum CPC varies with search engines and over time. Can this process be automated using a PPC management tool? Yes there are PPC bid management tools that are fully automated and does rules-based bidding and lets us manage keyword buys to achieve specific goals. A good PPC bid management tool or software can be very convenient and will almost free us from the hassles of bid management.

The PPC management tools/software can be quite effective and its performance will depend upon the differently available software brands with varying features and possible upgrades. Standalone software can be downloaded from the Internet and can be run from one’s own computer. Such PPC management tools consider many technical factors in a more perfected and better way than is possible manually. These include many features and management of related factors including,

  • Conversion rate
  • Profit margin/account management
  • Support multiple search engine
  • Advertising budget
  • Paid traffic getting into the site
  • Multiple campaign management
  • Keyword management
  • Taking advantage of bid gaps
  • Different strategies for Google /Overture etc
  • Customization of rank range
  • Bids can be updated from a few seconds to many hours.
  • Analysis of ranking position
  • Automatic notification of bids
  • ROI tracking/ management
  • Bidding reports
  • All the above mentioned features of PPC management tools are used to fulfill the objective of any PPC campaign which will depend upon the type of product or services that is being promoted through the PPC ads. Needless to say like in any other form of advertising, the main objective of any PPC campaign is to get a better ROI (Return of Investment).

Pay Per Click Jobs - Your Checklist To Finding The Right Job For You

When it comes to making a living online, the chances have never been brighter! You already see that there are plenty of people who are seeing a great deal of success when it comes to making money online, but what might not be immediately apparent is how you can join them. Search engine marketing, particularly through pay per click services, is becoming quite popular when it comes to earning a living from the comfort of your own home, but remember, you need to be critical of the opportunities that you will find. Take a look below for some tips that will steer you towards the right opportunity, and don’t go forward until you can tick every single one off of your list.

    • Find out how much time you can devote to this opportunity.
    • The best opportunity for you will be one that will fit into the time that you have slotted for it. It doesn’t matter how great an opportunity is if you are constantly trying to get more work, or it constantly expects more from you than you can give.

    • Think about the salary.
    • What are your current needs? Do you have a job that you are looking to get rid of, but does it currently pay the bills? Are you unemployed and need a situation fast? There is often a time period when search engine marketing opportunities and pay per click services will need to wait before they pay you. Ask how long it will be before you receive your first pay check and how much they think it will be.

    • Do you have the capabilities to do the job?
    • Think about your internet set up at home. Do you have a reliable connection and can you clock time on your own on the computer? Too many people need to fight for a turn to use the computer, and this can be quite detrimental to your plans. Take some time to really sort through your resources and what they will be for the foreseeable future. Think about any disruptions (visits, vacations, the busy time at your other job) and make sure you take them into consideration.

    • Do your research!
    • What do you know about the company that is hiring you? Do they have a good reputation online and what do people who have worked for them in the past say? Take some time to find out what people are saying in reviews and on forums about your new company. How much did the other people make, and were they paid in a regular and timely fashion? There are many points to consider when you are starting a new job, and you want to make sure that your newest opportunity is a good one.

By keeping to a checklist, you can make sure that you have criteria for judging the opportunities that you come across. This is a good rubric to use when you are choosing between pay per click opportunities because it gives you a place to start from. Take some time and make sure that this opportunity is the one that helps you succeed!

SEO And How To Rank Well In Yahoo

Okay well first create a site with a decent amount of content and numerous pages. Make sure the site is a minimum of ten pages long. After that, submit it to the major three search engines in google, yahoo and msn. Once you have done this you can start to focus on yahoo. Because if you make the site strong for yahoo it will likely rank well in the other two major search engines. That is what the ultimate goal should be but we can now put our focus to yahoo.

Firstly wait until your site is indexed in yahoo before you buy a directory listing. A yahoo directory listing has a page rank of seven, buying one costs around two hundred dollars. As soon as you do though, your site will become an immediate power house in yahoo. This is pretty simple and is the way yahoo rewards people for buying the listing and it makes sense when you think about it.

Second focus on sites that also rank well in the same niche as yours in the yahoo search engine. The contact the site owners and ask for a link exchange. The key is to not pay for links and make sure they are in and from the same niche as yours otherwise the search engine will reject it close to immediately. With a yahoo directory listing and links from and to other powerful sites in your niche, you will rank top five with in a month or two.

    Search Engine Optimization for Everyone

There are many facets to SEO and the search engines continually change their methods of indexing sites to help prevent the same sites from staying up in the ranks all the time.

Here are some strategies we have personally used with our web design firm:

    1. Google AdWords. This is an excellent and cost effective method of getting good search results. You set the maximum daily amount you would like to spend on your key words and phrases. Within the first month we were getting more client contacts through using AdWords.

    2. Overture Keywords. This is a lot like AdWords, but we found that their system did not really allow you to set a daily limit to how much you wanted to spend and it quickly got out of hand with some of the phrases we had chosen! Still, it was pretty cost effective in the grand scheme of things.

    3. Yahoo Regional Directories. Once you are able to get your site indexed by the Yahoo Regional Directories, I think you stay in there for good! We’ve been in there for years now and continue to get clients who found us through this directory. (And it is free to submit your site.)

    4. Keywords / Description / Alt Tags / Title Tags / Page Content. All the big SEO companies rely heavily on these 5 things - all of which are contained in the code of your web pages. However, with a little research, you could do these yourself (or have it done by your web designer). A few great tools to help you with this task are: Overture Keyword Selector Tool (http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/), Google Suggestion Tool (http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=1&hl=en), Meta Tag Analyzer (http://www.iboost.com/tools/meta_tag_analyzer.htm), and Keyword Density Analyzer (http://www.keyworddensity.com/).

The main benefit to hiring a professional SEO company is that they work for you to constantly update your keywords, etc. and submit your URL to search engines. They know exactly how many of each keyword to use, etc. And this is often a service worth paying for if optimization is a real concern in your industry. A good SEO company will also stay up on what the search engines are doing and change their tactics accordingly. They will also never use an “illegal” tactics that could get you banned from the search engine. Be wary of companies that “guarantee top 10 placement”. I recommend http://www.submitsolutions.com.

    5. Online Directories. Submitting your website URL to free online directories is a great avenue of promotion. One way you can find directories is to use Google or another search engine and type in “(type of your business) online directories”. Some that come up may ask for a small amount to list your site. If they do, you should always contact them and ask them for more information such as how many unique visits their directories get per month to see if the price is a good value.

    6. Open Directory Project. http://www.dmoz.org The ODP is one of the main sources the the Googlebot uses to find new websites. This is a human-maintained directory - meaning that when you submit your URL, an actual person reviews your submission to decide if the site is appropriate, etc. It may take some time to get your site indexed by the ODP, but once it is, you should not have to keep sending your links.

    7. Blog. Having a Blog on your website is a great way to attract visitors to your site with fresh content. And the search engines love content rich blog pages. There are free services out there such as http://www.blogger.com, http://www.blog-city.com, http://www.livejournal.com and many more that allow you to sign up for a free blog. Of course the best way to blog to have the blog “software” actually installed on your site. This is something your web designer/programmer could do for you. I highly recommend sBlog (http://servous.se/) as a free php based Blog script (you will need php and a MySQL database installed with your web hosting service to run this).

    8. Submit to Google and Yahoo. These two are the top dogs in the search engine world and both still accept FREE submissions. For Yahoo, you must go through the categories until you find the most appropriate one for your website. For Google, you can go to the following URL to submit your site: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl

    9. Print advertising. Many companies forget that print advertising is still a very valid way to get visitors to your website. Although this can get costly, even having your URL printed on your business cards, letterheads and envelopes is considered print advertising.

    10. Be the best you can be. It sounds simple, but a lot of people get so wrapped up in SEO that they neglect the quality of their website. Remember that your website reflects your business and should offer a professional, high quality appearance and useful content. No matter what your business is, your visitors will be more inclined to stick around or make a purchase if your site is easy to navigation, has useful information, and looks professional.

I also highly recommend visiting Site Pro News (http://www.sitepronews.com) and signing up for their free newsletter. They have the most up to date info on SEO.

    How Google Makes Money?

Have you ever wondered this: “Hey! How does Google makes so much money?”

Google was incorporated by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1998. The company went public in 2004 and raised USD1.67b. At that time, for a 6 years old company, it’s spectacular! Google has made hundred of their staff millionaires overnight after it went public. Their share price soars. Investor find Google has a strong growth plan and it currently dominates 40% of the internet search market.

So, where does the money comes from? Google is a search engine company. People do searches and they will say this “Just Google it”. When you do a search in Google, do you realize on the right hand side of the search results is the sponsored links? Advertisers pay Google for showing their ads if the specific keywords is searched. This is called Pay Per Click (PPC) advertisement. Google has the product name called Google AdWords to cater this business. Advertisers will tell Google to show their ads if their selected keywords is searched. They can also instruct Google to show their ads in certain region or countries specifically.

PPC advertising is more effective than putting a banner in a website. What’s the difference? If you put a banner in a website, you are not targeting general audience. You will not know how many viewed your banner and how many converted into sales. PPC is very targeted and you only pay Google when they click on your ads. AdWords will tell you how many impressions and clicks for your ads. There are 200 million searches in Google daily. So now you know how the big chunk of money going to Google every day?

There is another Google product called Google AdSense, where Google pay website owners to place Google Ads. If their visitors click on the Ads in their website, the website owner will get paid. Simple as that. If you see on the right hand side of my blog, you can find some Google sponsored ads.

Besides that, Google is leveraging on other applications like Gmail, Google earth, Google maps, Picasa & etc to expand their advertisement coverage. Did you realised that in your Gmail, you also can find advertisements. Whenever you open an email, Gmail will show related ads based on your keywords in your email contents. Try it and see.

Google also developed many free applications. Most of the applications are embedded their advertising features in it.

The Fastest Way to Get Traffic to Your Site

Lots of people would like to get their Web site to the top of Google’s free listings. But that’s precisely the problem: You’re competing with lots of people. It’s certainly possible to get to the top - after all, somebody has to be there! - but it takes a lot of time and effort. Alternatively, you could pay a search engine marketing company to do this for you.

But by far the better way to get to the top of Google is to pay for it. Google’s “AdWords” program allows even a small business to buy advertising for selected key words and phrases. You might be surprised at how little you have to pay.

    Here’s how it works …

Google (at www.google.com) has two types of listings: Free and paid. Google makes its money from the paid listings.

Google AdWords is the name of Google’s paid advertising system. It is a pay-per-click advertising system, which means that you only pay when someone clicks on your advertisement.

AdWords is an auction-based system. You offer to pay a certain price for each click, and you compete with other bidders for higher placement.

You choose which words or phrases you would like to use for your ad. When somebody searches Google using those search terms, your ad will appear. If they then click on your ad, it takes them to a specific page on your Web site.

The biggest advantage is that it gives you CONTROL.

Another problem with trying to get into the free listings at Google is that you don’t have much control over how your page will appear. You’re not sure exactly which search phrases will display it; you’re not sure what Google will say about it; and you’re not sure which pages of your site will match Google’s criteria for each search phrase.

With AdWords, all those problems disappear. You can control the exact wording of your ads, the exact page they link to, the exact search phrases they match, and exactly when they appear.

For example, when I went overseas for a month last year, I turned off all my Google advertising while I was away. (That was in the days before I had fine-tuned my advertising campaigns. Nowadays, I would just leave the ads running, knowing that they would make me money in my absence :-) )

You can control where the ads appear in the world. For example, at the time of the Australian election last October, one of my clients had an election-related Web site, so we ran some Google ads - but only for Australian Internet users.

You can get even more specific with geography. For example, I can run ads for events that I’m conducting in Sydney, and only show those ads to people in and around Sydney.

You can run two ads side by side and find out which is more responsive. Then you delete the weaker ad and replace it with a third ad that you pit against the stronger ad. Keep doing this until you find the ad that gets the best results.

Google tells you exactly which words and phrases people used when searching. For example, when we did the advertising for the election campaign, we found that “Australian election” had 50% more searches than “federal election”; and “liberal party” had three times as many searches as “labor party”!

With all these benefits, why would you ever go for free listings?

I hope I’ve convinced you by now that Google AdWords is the best way to get traffic from search engines.

But what about the free listings?

Actually, I’m NOT suggesting that you give up the idea of getting a free listing in Google. There are definitely advantages to these listings.

What I am saying is that you should go for the paid listings first - to test your market, refine your ad copy and improve your marketing. Then put your efforts into the free listings if you choose.
